The most common Westfalia Split Bus Tow Hitch. The VW-TR-59 model was introduced in July 1959. The design looks the same as the VW-TR-58 model but the arms changed to a curved style adding strength.  VW-TR-59 Westfalia Tow Hitch  VW-TR-59 Westfalia Tow Hitch 1959-1965 design This design stayed the same until 1965 when the design was changed. Westfalia introduced a solid swan neck, replacing the hollow style used upto then. The legs were also narrowed. The reason for the changes was to allow the hitch to pull more weight - now 1200kg. The tag design also changed with black and silver aluminium screen print replacing the brass etched style previously used.
